A Toast to 2015!
As we all prepare to say goodbye to 2015 and welcome a new year, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported and followed my journey as a new fashion/style blogger. As a newbie to this space (which is even more competitive and saturated than i ever imagined), it’s hard to find and DEFINE your niche – something that categorically separates you from every other style blogger that’s out there. And even after you launch and promote, one can only hope that the readers find your content and imagery fresh, appealing and worth reading. Despite the challenges, I will continue because it’s what I love – and it’s mine! I’m certain 2016 will provide new opportunities to grow and learn how to be an even better blogger and i hope you continue to follow me on this journey.
I’d like to give a VERY special thanks to a good friend and my part-time photographer, Tyrenda Pentecost @TyPentecostPhotography. A very successful photographer AND blogger, I vividly remember the day I called to request her services of rendering my first “professional” blog photos. (NOTE: I must qualify that Ty was the first “professional” photographer because if my daughter read this post, she’d be highly offended considering she snapped many of the early pics you saw when my blog first launched in May….And when i’m desperate to capture an image, she’s still my photographer-on-standby :-).
Earlier this year, I noticed on Facebook that Ty recently started her photography business and then i thought, what better way to support her efforts and mine by joining forces to do something great. Our first shoot (and those that followed) was amazing and neither of us have looked back since. Being among the many who encouraged me but the first to capture my vision on film (do we still say “film” since everything is digital? I digress, but you get my point!), I want to raise my flute and give a big 2015 toast to Tyrenda Pentecost! Thanks for being my partner and friend!
