Generational Wisdom

As I get older and transform into the woman I was meant to be, almost unconsciously I’m reminded of the valuable lessons that have been passed down from one generation to the next.  Growing up in a large family with very limited means, you take nothing for granted. You learn the value of hard work and how it’s important to take good care of what you have (because it was usually hard to come by and not easily replaced)!  I’m so glad I live by these lessons today.  Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy the thrill of a new pair of shoes or the latest designer bag, but  trust me that it would never come at the expense of investing in what really matters, and that’s the care and well-being of my family. I’m now at a place in my life where I can splurge a little and also be a blessing to others….and for that, i’m very THANKFUL!

And speaking of taking good care of what you have, this royal blue silk (embellished with gold zippers) jumpsuit i’m wearing was purchased 3 years ago at an outlet mall in Las Vegas.  It’s by Ted Baker (one of my favorite brands) and was very inexpensive (less than $150 on sale)!  Goes to show that if you focus on quality vs price, you can always look like a million bucks!  Photos by TyPentecost Photography.
