Statement Pieces – Volume I

Greetings Fashionista Friends!  How many of you have invested in a cape this fall/winter season?  I love the versatility of a cape (depending on how it’s constructed) because you can create different looks just by adding a few touches.  This (one size fits all) cape, designed by Iris & Ink, is called “Bella“. It’s comfortable, stylish and can be dressed up or down depending on the look you’re going for.  In this post, I’m pairing with J Brand Leather “Tonya” skinnies with  moto-inspired detail across the knee for that extra biker edge!  To create a different look, i simply added a wide-leather belt across the waist (great way to cinch for that hourglass figure!). Now the cape doesn’t look like a cape anymore but it’s still very stylish and contemporary!

Feeling inspired to shop this look? Check out my Retail Link for details!

The setting for this shoot is the Gucci Store on Santana Row in San Jose…can’t think of a more fitting backdrop to put on display!

Love the mixture of the plaid cape with the striped highlights in those hot leather pants. My favorite look is the one with the belt followed closely by that brilliant fire engine red purse. Please share those belt details–I need that in my life! -RH

I know right? It’s a great statement piece too! The part you see in the photograph is actually the back of the belt! The front has two buckles – looks like 2 belts in one! Unlike anything i’ve ever seen…and guess what? I found it at an up-scale consignment store in Newport Beach. It’s by Burberry and if i can find another, i’ll let you know!
